Official Myspace

Ex-Adler's Appetite vocalist Sheldon Tarsha's band TARSHA has just confirmed they will be performing live in support of ANVIL at House of Blues in Anaheim, California on Feb. 4th. "I met up with with ANVIL when I sang for ICON at Rocklahoma last year," stated Tarsha. "We ended up riding back to the hotel from the venue in the same limo. Hearing Lips and Rob tell their story in person, was almost better than the movie! I'm looking forward to opening for them. It's gonna be a great show!" Tarsha also has another show scheduled at House of Blues Sunset Strip, in Hollywood, California opening for Steel Panther on Feb. 22nd.

After completing a US tour singing for Adler's Appetite last year, Tarsha independently released "The Singles EP" complete with a music video for the song "Second Life". In 2007, Tarsha independently released his first full length album "Prophecies" which became a worldwide Internet Radio hit; Reaching No. 2 and remaining on the Internet Live 365 Rock Top 30 Chart for 77 weeks.

Download Festival 2010
Jan 12, 2010 - 4:35 PM - by Rogue

Being pretty much the only European festival on the circuit that hasn't announced a single band yet, Live Nation's Download Festival 2010 has now kicked off with a brand new logo and new website. Well, we say new website, at the moment it is nothing more than a holding page, however our cources confirm the new website will be up and online at the time of first announcement which, again according to our sources will be at the end of this month (January).

So, who do we think it will be? Very strong rumours and self confirmations reveal that two of the headliners are likely to be Metallica and AC/DC as a self confirmation has been on both of their official websites.

We will keep you informed.

Mono
Jan 07, 2010 - 3:20 PM - by Rogue

RT presents Japanese orchestral rockers MONO. We decided to do a mini feature on these guys as even though they have been around for over 5 years and have 5 albums and a singles collection under their belts, we hadn't heard of them. We were very suprised at what we heard, in a very good way.

Well, it's 2010...Weird
Jan 05, 2010 - 11:16 PM - by Rogue

Ya know it sounds rather futeristic saying ''2010'' doesn't it. Strange. So, what's going to happen now....It's rather simple really, same stuff as usual. Things have been a little slow here over the last month being Christmas and new year so we havn't really had a chance to update a lot, you know how it goes, visiting family, getting plastered...Falling over on the ice...Hmm, Maybe that was just me. Heh, well nevermind. 2010 will bring many more new interviews for you all to sink your teeth into, and hopefully a few of you eager readers will post up on the forums and give us your opinions on things!!!!

We have also put up Episode 3 of the Heavy Metal Road Show so be sure to check that out.

Acts from all over the world with brutal metal as their common thread!

Armed with a new album on Metal Blade Records, THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER require no introduction. The five-piece have several albums under their belt and have helped elevate death metal to the masses in part to their relentless worldwide touring. 3 INCHES OF BLOOD have help represent a more thrashy, old-school metal style complete with a new record on Century Media Records, bang your head and raise the horns! The veterans of the tour are undoubtedly Sweden’s NECROPHOBIC, who have been devastating since 1989 and still going strong – complete with a newly released album on Regain Records showcasing their unique mixture of black metal and death metal. Following the path of death metal giants such as Cynic, Nile and Cannibal Corpse, THE FACELESS take no prisoners by converting their formula of brutal metallic rage combined with outstanding technique and spacey hooks. Bringing more metal veterans onto the bill is Relapse Record’s OBSCURA. With members playing previously in Necrophagist, Spawn Of Possession and Pestilence their pedigree of death metal is through the roof with technical deathmetal heaviness. CARNIFEX haven’t let their relative newness in the metal scene stop from them from touring relentlessly around the globe in support of their Victory Records debut. Don’t miss this bludgeoning act in their element: the live setting. Opening up the tour is INGESTED. Hailing from the UK, these guys dish out slamming deathmetal packed with blastbeats to spare, don’t miss this act whose debut album has earned high praise from all over.

THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER's singer Trevor Strnad has this to say: "We are very excited to be the drunken hosts of the Bonecrusher tour. In cooperation with the wonderful Avocado, we have assembled quite a brutal line up for all tastes of the extreme. We are to be joined in this merciless campaign by our bearded brethren in 3 Inches Of Blood, personal favorites Necrophobic, Carnifex, Obscura, The Faceless and one of the UK's finest, Ingested. You'd be a fool to miss such a killer line up! Come out to the show and leave in an urn... bones crushed!!!"

BONECRUSHER FEST DATES:

February 2010

1st Bristol Academy
2nd Leeds Rios
3rd Glasgow Garage
4th
Birmingham Academy
5th London ULU

R.I.P A7X's 'The Rev'
Dec 30, 2009 - 10:57 AM - by Prelude

It's with a great sadness that I tell you that James "The Rev" Sullivan, drummer for US heavy metal band Avenged Sevenfold, has died aged 28.

A co-founder of A7X, The Rev was found dead in his California home on Monday morning.

His death appears to be one of natural causes, with an autopsy revealing nothing out of the ordinary as of yet.

A statement on the band's website said Sullivan was "one of the world's best drummers, but more importantly our best friend and brother".

Christmas in the name of....
Dec 20, 2009 - 7:42 PM - by Prelude

Well done to Rage Against The Machine for claiming the 'coverted' UK Xmas number one with 'Killing In The Name Of'!

The song beat the likes of Lady Gaga, Jay Z and X Factor puppet, Joe McElderry.

Rage beat McElderry by over 50,000 copies, selling 502, 672.

Joe's record still sold a respectable 450, 838 units.

The power of Facebook has spoken....

Ellie Goulding wins Brit Award!
Dec 09, 2009 - 3:20 PM - by Prelude

Singer-songwriter Ellie Goulding has won the Brit Awards Critics' Choice prize for the act most likely to break through next year.

The 22-year-old, who was born in Hereford, was chosen by a panel of newspaper, magazine and website editors and record label bosses.

"When I found out, I had a little squeal, I had a little cry and I had a little fall down," she said.

Florence and the Machine and Adele are previous winners of the award.

Goulding said: "I didn't believe it at first but now that it's sunk in I am delighted and utterly honoured to have been given this award.

"I couldn't be more happy and thankful to everyone right now."

On website Twitter, she added: "Er, I won a bloody Brit Award."

She will perform at the Brit Awards nomination launch on 18 January and will pick up her award at the main ceremony on 16 February.

Congrats Ellie!
